About Us
Quality Pet Care
Since 2022 Captain Jack's Grooming has been providing grooming to the dogs in the Toluca Lake and the surrounding areas. With over 35 years of combined experience in the pet industry we strive to provide not only quality but an environment that your dog enjoys coming to. We have 3 groomers each with their own style to fit the haircut you are looking for.
Sandy
I began as a bather while in high school eventually learning to groom which I have been doing for over 15 years. I specialize in breed standard clips including hand stripping as well as custom clips and creative grooming. I have continued my education learning more about specific coat types, hair & skin health, and am a certified AKC S.A.F.E Groomer. I have been working on my NDGAA Master Groomer and AKC Master Groomer certifications as well as certification with the International Society of Canine Cosmetologists. I began grooming competitions, sport dog competitions, and dog shows in 2022 obtaining several titles.

I went to school at the West Coast Grooming Academy and began working at Captain Jack's after graduating. I'm a passionate and dedicated dog groom with years of experience helping dogs look their best. I am a first generation dog groomer that is driven by my love for dogs. I have a very calm energy and gentle touch that when combined with patience and skill that helps make even the most nervous dog feel right at home. Whether it is a bouncy puppy or or a senior that needs special care, they're in caring, capable hands.

I have always had a love of dogs. I began grooming as a second career and discovered quickly how much joy comes from it. For over 7 years I have worked with many dogs and their unique personalities and take great care in helping them to stay calm during their grooming visit. I work hard to build a long lasting relationship with the dogs I groom. I have continued my education learning more about procedures from styling to safety. I look forward to meeting your pup.

I have over 13 years of experience in pet retail and grooming. After taking over a la Mutt and turning it into Captain Jack's Grooming with a goal to create a place where dogs are comfortable and enjoy going to be groomed. I set out to find the best groomers and products to provide the care your dogs deserve. I have spent many years helping to find the best treats and foods to fit the individual dog's needs and have brought that same mentality to grooming. I am always happy to help find what works best for your dog, even if it is not a product, treat, or food we carry.
Captain Jack
Captain Jack was a black & tan Shiba Inu. He spent a lot of time in pet stores and grooming salons while he was growing up. He enjoyed hiking especially in rough terrain. Being a pirate, he loved the water and being on boats. He passed in 2024 at 17.5 years old.

We do not groom cats.
That depends on your dog and you. Shedding. Dirt. Dander. Smell. You have to figure out when it needs to be dealt with.
If the products being used are high quality your dog can be bathed every day.
No, all appointments are scheduled directly with the shop by phone call or text.
In order to make sure every dog gets the time it needs and to be comfortable we make sure appointments are always scheduled with the same groomer and that they will not be rushed out.
